Zhejiang Women's Specialized College (ZWSC) is the only school of its kind in East China's Zhejiang Province. Located in the provincial capital's cultural and educational district by  the famous West Lake, it features a beautiful campus with green grass and graceful trees. It is an ideal place for studies.

ZWSC offers college and university courses in its five departments of Language and Communications, Tourism, Information Science, Preschool Education, and Social Work with seven specialties: Business English, Tourism and Hotel Management, Modern Secretarial Work, Preschool Education, Computer Information Management, E-commerce, and social work. The university education has four specialties: English Education, Education Management, Computer Information Management, and E-commerce.

ZWSC is aimed at training practical, professional, or compound female talents. Students are encouraged to take various kinds of qualifications or trade examinations，develop and enhance their variant abilities, while completing the required courses. The college has paid great attention to teaching quality, which has ranked at the top of provincial colleges of its kind in unified examinations many times.

ZWSC boasts huge teaching staff, with teachers of middle and senior ranks making up 85 percent of its total number, including 3 provincial excellent teachers, 1 excellent teacher and 1 excellent educator selected respectively by the national women's federation. It has well-equipped centers for audio-visual education, computer-aided teaching, language labs, and piano teaching respectively; an OA lab, simulated guestrooms, simulated restaurants, art designing studios, and multi-purpose rooms for training; and such up-to-date teaching facilities as video cameras and large-screen overhead projectors.

ZWSC has attached great importance to teaching and management, sustaining the school spirit of "being diligent, pragmatic, united and enterprising". The students are hard working, dynamic, creative, and pioneering. They often hold and take an active part in various kinds of campus cultural activities and social activities. There are such regular activities as art festival, speech contest, chorus, essays soliciting for special themes, painting and calligraphy exhibition, running blackboard newspapers, story telling, Karaoke, sports meet, basketball match, volleyball match, body-building competition, and English Corner. The college's dancing team, chorus team and bodybuilding team are well known. It has many times won 1st or 2nd prizes at provincial-level or municipal-level art competitions and speech contests.

When she made an inspection tour of ZWSC, Madam Peng Peiyun, Vice-Chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and President of the All-China Women's Federation had a high opinion of its construction and development, and wrote the special inscription: "Education is fundamental to the development of women". Commissioners from the UNICEF and women's delegations from the United States, Canada, Japan, Poland, Vietnam, and Cambodia have been to the college for a visit or a discussion on women's education and development.

In days to come, ZWSC will, in line with the principle of " developing more talents and developing brilliant talents", upgrade its teaching quality and educational management, promote foreign exchanges, and make greater contribution to the development of more higher-level new-century women talents.
